Mobility, culture and sports

Germany has a well-developed system of public transportation. You can easily reach most destinations with the Deutsche Bahn and with suburban trains, buses, streetcars and subways. There are also many bicycle paths in Hannover.

Train and bus

You can use public transportation throughout Germany with the Deutschlandticket. It can be used on all local trains such as Regionalbahn or Regionalexpress or S-Bahn and also on public transport such as buses, streetcars, subway trains. For MHH employees, this ticket costs 365 euros for one year. However, you can also purchase it on a monthly basis. Further information can be found on the MHH intranet. Get to know Hannover

Hanover has many cultural institutions, sports activities, colorful festivals, interesting shopping opportunities and numerous green spaces. Thus, a comprehensive range of leisure and cultural activities is available to you. Especially beautiful are the Herrenhausen Gardens and Palace, the Eilenriede, the Maschsee, the Zoo and the Animal park (Tierpark).

Bicycle ride

Hannover is very bike-friendly and for most people, commuting by bike will be quite easy. For people new to the area, it is easy to hire bikes. For a fixed monthly fee, you can rent bikes from Swapfiets, for example. An added advantage is the staff there all speak excellent English. There are also carrentals nearby.
