Housing is scarce and we therefore advise you to start looking for accommodation for yourself and your family several months before your stay in Germany begins. On this page you will get some suggestions so that you can search for a room, an apartment or a house in Hannover. We wish you good luck.

Hannover’s districts
One question that comes up when looking for an apartment is which of Hannover’s 51 districts to move to. The MHH and TWINCORE are located in the district of Groß-Buchholz. Popular districts nearby are Kleefeld, Kirchrode, Bothfeld and List. You can read some information about the districts on the website of the city of Hannover. The city map of Hannover offers you a general overview.

Other possibilities
The daily newspapers in Hannover, for example the Hannoversche Allgemeine Zeitung and the Neue Presse, print apartment offers in their Wednesday and Saturday editions. You can also post your own apartment or room search – albeit for a fee.
It is also possible to look for an apartment with the help of a real estate agent. You can find a list of real estate agents in your city in the “Yellow Pages” by entering ‘Immobilienmakler’ and ‘Hannover’.
Once you have found an apartment, you can look for an electricity provider of your choice, for example via the comparison portal Verivox. If you don’t do that, the electricity will automatically go through the city supplier Enercity.
