On 18 April 2024, Dr. Ilija Brizic will give a lecture – from 5 to 6 p.m. in Lecture Hall Q, Building J6 of the MHH. The title of the lecture is: „Glial Cell Adaptation to Latent Virus Infection“.

Ilija Brizić is an associate professor and head of the Center for Proteomics at the Faculty of Medicine, University of Rijeka. His research interest is the immune response to cytomegalovirus infection, particularly focusing on early-life immunity and immune surveillance of infection within the central nervous system. He has authored over 40 peer-reviewed research papers, leads three research projects, and is part of the Scientific Centre of Excellence for Viral Immunology and Vaccines. He received several awards for his scientific work, including the National Award for Science.
