The RESIST team mourns the loss of Prof. Reinhold E. Schmidt, who died on 23 January 2022 at the age of 70. Prof. Schmidt was Dean of the Hannover Biomedical Research School (HBRS) and for many years Director of the Department of Clinical Immunology and Rheumatology at Hannover Medical School (MHH).
Prof. Schmidt helped to establish the Cluster of Excellence RESIST and has been a member of the Research Management Board and the Internal Advisory Board from the very beginning. He also conducted research in the RESIST project A2, which revolves around congenital immunodeficiency and whose goal is to improve diagnosis – so that an early identification of as many affected persons as possible can be achieved.
