We are very much looking forward to our international scientific symposium on infection research, which will also include a public discussion event, at the Futurium in Berlin on 1 and 2 October 2024. You can still register via this homepage until 20 September 2024: https://microbes2024.de

Under the title ‘Microbes – Connecting Environment and Health’, RESIST researchers will come together with researchers from the Clusters of Excellence ‘Balance of the Microverse’ (Friedrich Schiller University Jena) and ‘Controlling Microbes to Fight Infections’ (University of Tübingen) to share perspectives and present current findings.
We are looking forward to top-class speakers, including Prof. Dr. Dusan Bogunovic from the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai, Prof. Dr. Wolf-Dietrich Hardt from ETH Zurich and Prof. Dr. Maria Vehreschild from Frankfurt University Hospital. The symposium will focus on the following topics: Antimicrobial resistance and new solutions, resilience of microbial communities, susceptibility to infections and microbiome & health.

In addition, our researchers will meet representatives from society and politics under the title ‘Infection Research in the Service of Health: A Dialogue between Science, Society & Politics’ on 1 October from 18:30 to 20:00. This discussion panel consists of Prof. Dr. Bodo Grimbacher (RESIST), Prof. Dr. Heike Brötz-Oesterhelt (CMFI) and Prof. Dr. Ilse Jacobsen (Microverse) as well as Prof. Dr. Veronika von Messling (BMBF), Volker Stollorz (Science Media Center) and Prof. Dr. Lothar Wieler (Hasso Plattner Institute). The evening will be moderated by Michael Pelzer. The discussion will take place in an interactive fishbowl format. This means that the audience is cordially invited to join in the discussion.

Please make a note of the date now. We will publish further information here as soon as free registration for our event is possible.
