The title of the lecture ist: \u201eFc\u03b3 \u2013 an embattled hub of pro- and antiviral immune effector functions\u201d.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>This seminar will take place from 5 to 6 pm in lecture theatre Q, building J6, MHH.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>If you are interested in participating via video (online), please contact &#x52;E&#x53;&#73;S&#x54;&#64;&#x6d;&#x68;-&#x68;&#97;n&#x6e;&#111;&#x76;&#101;r&#x2e;&#100;e.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Background information on the lecture:<br \/>\nHuman cytomegalovirus (HCMV) is endowed with hundreds of gene functions that influence the antiviral immune response. We identified several HCMV genes (IRL11\/TRL11, UL119_118, TRL12) encoding Fc\u03b3-recognising glycoproteins that influence IgG-mediated effector responses by blocking or exploiting host Fc\u03b3 receptors. Therefore, our team developed novel and practical approaches to study the conditions for triggering individual Fc\u03b3Rs by different receptor ligands, including soluble multimeric immune complexes and C-reactive protein (CRP). The results highlight the Fc\u03b3 module as a central hub between adaptive and innate immunity, making this interface an attractive target for novel immune intervention strategies in patients.<\/p>\n<p>Do you have any questions or suggestions about the RESIST seminar series?
