SUMMARY:ACME Seminar lecture by Prof. Søren Paludan
DESCRIPTION:Exciting topics\, interestingly presented: Every first and third Thursday (except during school holidays)\, RESIST scientists or top-class researchers from external institutions present their topics at the RESIST seminar series. \nAttend these exciting seminars of the Cluster of Excellence RESIST and the GRK ACME\, as a member of RESIST or as a colleague or student. \nOn 9 April 2026 at 13:00\, Prof. Søren Paludan\, Center for Immunology of Viral Infections (CiViA)\, a National Research Foundation Center of Excellence of Aarhus University\, Denmark\, will give a talk with the title “Innate immune responses against virus infections”. \nSøren R Paludans PhD work centered on the regulation of gene expression in macrophages during viral infections and was conducted at Aarhus University and The Cleveland Clinic Foundation in the US. Following this\, Søren conducted postdoctoral studies as Aarhus University addressing the role of pattern recognition receptors in activating antiviral gene expression during herpes simplex virus infection in different cell types and in vivo models. Since establishing his lab\, Søren has developed a research program that centers on understanding how the innate immune system senses virus infections\, and how it contributes to host defense and disease development. A particular focus of the lab is on viral infections at epithelial surfaces and in the brain. Søren has received several awards for his work and has obtained funding from competitive national and international funding sources. He is currently professor in virology and immunology at Aarhus University\, Lundbeck Foundation professor and director of the Center for Immunology of Viral infections (CiViA)\, funded by the Danish National Research Foundation. \nThe lecture will take place in Lecture Hall Q\, Building J01 of the Hannover Medical School. \nIf you are interested in participating online\, please contact RESIST@mh-hannover.de. \nDo you have any questions or suggestions about the RESIST seminar series? Then please contact us.

SUMMARY:RESIST Seminar lecture by Dr. Thomas Ulas
DESCRIPTION:Exciting topics\, interestingly presented: Every first and third Thursday (except during school holidays)\, RESIST scientists or top-class researchers from external institutions present their topics at the RESIST seminar series. \nAttend these exciting seminars of the Cluster of Excellence RESIST\, as a member of RESIST or as a colleague or student. \nOn 16 April 2026 at 12:00 a.m.\, Dr. Thomas Ulas\, research group of Bioinformatics & Computational Network Research\, Bonn University\, will give a lecture with the title “Exploring neonatal immune trajectories through hcocena and LLM guided workflows in XpressionBuddy”: \n“In this talk\, I will demonstrate how we use the horizontal co-expression network analysis tool hcocena to map the longitudinal maturation of the neonatal immune system. I will also introduce XpressionBuddy\, a new framework that combines a graphical user interface with LLM guided workflows to make complex bioinformatic analyses accessible to clinical researchers. \nResearch Interests:\nMy research focuses on developing computational genomics pipelines to understand immune cell plasticity in health and disease. I am particularly interested in creating integrative systems medicine workflows and interactive tools that bridge the gap between complex multi-omics data and clinical application.” \nThe lecture will take place in Lecture Hall Q\, Building J01 of the Hannover Medical School. \nIf you are interested in participating online\, please contact RESIST@mh-hannover.de. \nDo you have any questions or suggestions about the RESIST seminar series? Then please contact us.

SUMMARY:RESIST Seminar lecture by Prof. Dr. Britta Eiz-Vesper
\nOn 23 April 2026 at 1:00 p.m.\, Prof. Dr. Britta Eiz-Vesper\, Institute of Transfusion Medicine and Transplant Engineering (ITT)\, will give a lecture on “Personalized adoptive T-cell therapy to treat viral complication”. \nBritta Eiz-Vesper’s research advances allogeneic antiviral T-cell therapy and next-generation CAR/TCR engineering for the treatment of viral infections\, virus-induced malignancies\, solid tumors\, and transplant rejection. She co-founded the world’s first T-cell donor registry (alloCELL.org) and has been instrumental in establishing immune monitoring and quality standards for antiviral T-cell therapies. Her work focuses on identifying suitable T-cell donors\, delivering personalized antiviral immunotherapies to patients in need\, and developing monitoring programs for pathogen-specific T cells in immunocompromised individuals with or without transplants. To date\, more than 800 mono- and multivirus-specific T-cell products have been manufactured for patients at Hannover Medical School (MHH)\, in Germany\, and across Europe. Her current research aims to elucidate the mechanisms that govern the function of adoptively transferred T cells and to further optimize T-cell–based immunotherapies. \nThe lecture will take place in Lecture Hall S\, Building J01 of the Hannover Medical School. \nIf you are interested in participating online\, please contact RESIST@mh-hannover.de. \nDo you have any questions or suggestions about the RESIST seminar series? Then please contact us.
